Health Insurance Overview

  • Trinity Washington University is pleased to offer our students Student Insurance Plan Options for the academic year including access to comprehensive health care at an affordable premium, access to preferred providers for less out of pocket and an online portal to help you better manage your benefits and claims.
  • When you enroll in our student insurance plan, the Health and Wellness Center’s Nurse Practitioners will serve as your Primary Care Providers, managing all of your health needs right on campus in a comprehensive setting that is convenient for you and free of charge.
  • All students are required to have adequate, local health insurance coverage while they attend Trinity Washington University.
  • If you are a full time CAS student you will be invited to enrolled in the student health insurance plan.  If you have your own private health insurance, you can WAIVE the university-sponsored insurance plan to avoid being billed for the coverage beginning June 1, 2025 (Fall) or November 10, 2025 (Spring).  If you do not take action to enroll or waive by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in Trinity’s Health Insurance plan.

THE DEADLINE TO ENROLL IN STUDENT INSURANCE OR SUBMIT THE WAIVER FOR FALL 2025 is Wednesday September 3, 2025, and for SPRING 2026 is Tuesday February 3, 2026.  Use: https://trinitydc.myahpcare.com/ to enroll or waive.

Enrolled on Trinity’s Health Insurance?

Trinity’s Health Insurance and the Health Fee provide you access to the team of providers, Nurse Practitioners and Counselors in the Health Center (Main Hall 461), with no co-pay and no cost for services, labs and in house prescriptions.  You can manage your appointments, records, lab results, etc via the Trinity Student Health Portal at TrinityDC.studenthealthportal.com

You have access to your insurance coverage, Log on to CARE 26 at: https://trinitydc.myahpcare.com to answer any questions regarding:

  • Plan Information (i.e., highlight flyer, brochure, telemedicine, other carrier flyers, etc.)
  • Instructions for filing a claim
  • Other pertinent plan and carrier information
  • Option to get online help from AHP team – “do you need help?” https://help.ahpcare.com/ and chat feature available
  • Students can also call the dedicated Student Service Line: 1 866-886-1170.

Insurance ID Card:

  • Digital ID cards can be accessed 24/7 by creating an account with Wellfleet online at https://www.studentinsurance.com/MyAccount/Account/Index/924 or by downloading the Wellfleet Student mobile app to your smart phone or device. To create your account, you will need to use your student ID number.
