Listed below are symptoms that discern when a medical condition becomes an emergency. If you or someone you know is exhibiting any of these symptoms, contact Public Safety at extension 9111 or (202-884-9111).
- Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
- Severe chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure
- Fainting, sudden dizziness, weakness
- Sudden loss of vision
- Confusion or changes in mental status
- Suicidal or Homicidal thoughts
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea
- Coughing or vomiting blood
- Difficulty speaking
