Fall Respiratory Illnesses
Dear Trinity Community,
The Trinity Health and Wellness team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for allowing us to support your healthcare needs. Your well-being remains our top priority, and we’re here to assist you every step of the way.
As we progress through the Fall semester, we want to remind everyone to stay vigilant about respiratory illnesses, including the flu and COVID-19. Unfortunately, campuses nationwide—including Trinity—are experiencing a noticeable increase in respiratory illness cases. COVID-19 rates are rising in Maryland and Washington, DC, and it’s important we all remain proactive in protecting ourselves and others. For the latest COVID-19 trends, please visit the CDC site here.
If you test positive for COVID-19:
- Please submit the COVID Test Submission Form Covid Test submission form so the Health Center can confirm your case and provide follow-up support.
- Follow our standing protocols detailed here: Trinity COVID-19 Protocols.
Key Health Reminders:
- If you are sick or have symptoms, stay home to protect others. Faculty and supervisors are encouraged to be understanding and supportive of those needing to stay away due to illness.
- Seek care at the Health Center (Main 461) or from your healthcare provider if you experience symptoms.
- You may return to campus when symptoms improve, you’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication, and you follow recommended precautions for an additional five days (such as masking, distancing, and hygiene).
- When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as taking additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be around other people indoors. This is especially important to protect people with factors that increase their risk of severe illness from respiratory viruses.
- Vaccinations, including COVID-19 boosters and flu shots, remain highly recommended for your safety and community health.

Additional Prevention Tips:
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
- Cover coughs and sneezes properly.
- Wear masks if you choose, especially in crowded or enclosed spaces—let’s respect everyone’s preferences.
- Keep a healthy distance when possible.
