As part of the exhibit, we are planning a Salute to Women in Aviation with a special program about Bessie Coleman, the first Black woman to earn a pilot’s license.  Our very own Dr. Lynda Jackson, retired Air Force Colonel, has arranged two powerful speakers:  Air Force General (Ret.) Stayce Harris who was a trailblazer in her active duty service, and Army Colonel (Ret.) Nickey Knighton who was just the second Black woman to earn pilot’s wings in the U.S. military.   (Col. Knighton will speak at 11 am and General Harris will speak at noon on zoom)
