Key Guidelines for Students

- Requirement: Testing Services operates by appointment only.
Testing Procedures
- Request Permission: Contact your instructor to ask if you are eligible to take a makeup exam. Your instructor may choose to administer the exam themselves or refer you to Testing Services.
- Access the Form: When referred to Testing Services, you will receive an email link via the Dynamic Forms portal to schedule your exam.
- Submit Request: Fill out and submit the Student Exam Appointment Request.
- Faculty Review: The form is routed to Testing Services and your instructor for official approval.
- Confirmation:
- If Approved: Testing Services will confirm your requested exam appointment time.
- If Not Approved: You will receive a notification with next steps or instructions on how to resolve scheduling issues.
- Arrival & Check-In: Arrive at the library at your scheduled exam time with a valid photo ID.
- Late Policy: Late arrivals may not be admitted. If you anticipate running late, contact Testing Services immediately to verify if you can still be accommodated.
- Secure Belongings: Store all personal items, including internet-enabled electronics (laptops, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches, etc.), in the designated storage area before being seated.
- Exam Administration: Staff will seat you in a testing area and enforce the time limit set by your instructor. While every effort is made to provide a quiet environment, absolute silence cannot be guaranteed.
- Wrap-Up: Staff will collect all exam materials and return your personal belongings once completed.
Important Notes & Guidelines
- Strict Adherence to Instructions: Staff must enforce all written instructions provided by your instructor. This includes testing deadlines, approved aids, and time limits. Staff cannot grant extra time, allow unauthorized study materials, or administer tests on unapproved dates without explicit instructor consent.
- Student Responsibility: You are responsible for contacting your instructor to clarify test details (e.g., allowed dates, time limits, or permitted materials like calculators, textbooks, or scratch paper). If you cannot reach your instructor, contact Testing Services for assistance.
- Right to Refuse: Testing Services and your instructor reserve the right to decline exam administration if testing procedures were not followed. Even though the automated system notifies your instructor, you must maintain direct communication with them regarding your makeup exam request.
Trinity’s Honor Code
Academic and Testing Services strictly adhere to Trinity’s Academic Honor Code. All students taking exams in the Center are expected to follow the guidelines set forth in the Student Code of Conduct.
Retrieval of Academic Tests
Testing Services maintains strict security and confidentiality standards for all student records and testing materials. Upon completion, staff will return your exam directly to your instructor according to their pre-arranged method. Please contact your instructor directly for test scores, grades, and feedback.
DSS Testing Accommodations
Students with documented disabilities requiring special testing accommodations (e.g., extended time or a reduced-distraction environment) must schedule their exams through Disability Support Services (DSS).
