The Sciences at Trinity
[toc=”2,3″]
Overview
The sciences play a fundamental role in the liberal arts education of all of Trinity’s undergraduate students. From courses in biology, chemistry, and physics to those in forensic science, nursing, and occupational therapy, our science programs offer all of our students the opportunity to explore the breadth of scientific exploration through general education and core curriculum courses while also providing the platform for our science and nursing majors to delve deeply into their fields.
The sciences stretch across all of Trinity’s collegiate units, ranging from general education and major courses in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Professional Studies, and the School of Nursing and Health Professions to courses in mathematics and science pedagogies in the School of Education. As such, the sciences create rich collaborations between Trinity faculty and students of diverse disciplines as well as between Trinity and other organizations. Perhaps most notably, Trinity is partnered with the Clare Boothe Luce Program, which provides financial support to women in the sciences, mathematics and engineering via undergraduate research and scholarship awards as well as funding for a number of Trinity’s full-time faculty members.
Through the innovative pedagogies and unwavering student support of our first-rate faculty, Trinity invites all of its students to discover the wonder and richness that an education in the sciences presents.
