Dr. Patrice Nielson Publishes Research in the Journal of College Science Teaching

This past summer, Dr. Patrice Nielson, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies for the College of Arts and Sciences, published the research article “Student Perspectives on the Success of Incorporating Student Choice into a Science Lab” in the Journal of College Science Teaching, 2026.

The publication highlights the use of choice and autonomy for students in their learning styles for laboratory settings. It goes on to discuss the implications of the gained confidence from choice and the engagement in course material.
