Counseling Faculty’s Research Initiative on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma Presents Workshop for the Retreat and Camping Ministries

The Counseling Program’s Research Initiative on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma presented at a workshop on May, 1st 2021 for the Retreat and Camping Ministries – The West River Center, a ministry of the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Dr. Diane Reese, Assistant Professor of Counseling, developed and presented the workshop titled, ” Camping with Trauma-Informed and Responsive Care”. The workshop participants were camp counselors.

Presentations were also given by, Dr. Cynthia Greer, Associate Professor of Counseling, and lead faculty for the position, Dr. Lu Oprea, Associate Professor, and Destinee Smith, a graduate of the counseling program. Also, a resource guide for Camp Counselors was developed by the research team and distributed in the Spring of 2020.
