Dr. Greer, Prof. Johnson and 2 Counseling students collaborate to publish chapters

Dr. Cynthia Greer (Associate Professor of Counseling and Educating for Change), Xanthia Johnson (Adjunct Professor of Counseling), and two Master of Arts in Counseling students, Bonita Reyes and Evelyn Robinson, recently collaborated together on publication submissions.  Led by Dr. Greer, each submitted an intervention for publication in a forthcoming book called Expressive Arts Interventions for School Counselors.  The book will be published this year by Springer and is being edited by Dr. Suzanne Degges-White, who teaches at Northern Illinois University, and Bonnie Colon, who teaches at Purdue.

The submission titles are as follows:

  • Cynthia Greer:  “‘I Love Being Me’: Improving Self-Esteem and Literacy: An Empowerment Program for Middle School Girls”
  • Xanthia Johnson, LPC, LCPC, RPT-S: “Exposure: A Psycho-Educational Expressive Arts Program For Middle School and High School Students”
  • Bonita Reyes: “Developing Healthy Relationships: An Intervention Program Integrating the Expressive Arts”
  • Evelyn Robinson: “Bridges Beyond Life: An Intervention Addressing Grief through the Use of the Expressive Arts”
