Work Study – Public Health Student Assistant
Job Overview
The Public Health Student Worker will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations and initiatives of the Public Health and Health Services Program. This position is designed for students participating in a work-study program, providing them with valuable hands-on experience in the field of public health. The student worker will assist in various tasks related to public health programs, outreach, research, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative
- Prepare and organize documents, reports, and presentations.
- Provide support in scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
- Program Assistance
- Support the implementation of public health programs and initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating community outreach events and health education programs.
- Compile and analyze data for program evaluation and reporting purposes.
- Research Assistance
- Conduct literature reviews and gather relevant information for research projects.
- Assist in data collection, entry, and analysis.
- Assist with finding various internship and practicum opportunities for both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Community Engagement
- Participate in community outreach activities to promote public health awareness.
- Participate in various recruitment activities for the program.
- Assist in the development of educational materials for community events.
- Communication and Documentation
- Assist in drafting newsletters, social media posts, and other communication materials.
- Document and summarize meetings, presentations, and discussions.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the department’s online presence.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in health services, public health, or pre- health professions program.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Interest in public health and a commitment to promoting community well-being.
