Adjunct for Latin American History & Politics 

Trinity Washington University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach two courses for the Spring 2024 semester: Modern Latin American History (HIS 314) taught on Tues & Thurs 9:00am-10:15am, and Exploring Latin American Politics (POLS 230), taught once a week on Mondays, 9:00-11:30am. The semester starts the week of 1/22/24.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in history, international affairs, political science, or a related discipline, with a strong focus on 19th & 20th century Latin American history & politics. Preference will be given to candidates with the qualifications and availability to teach both courses.

Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be requested if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Finalists will be invited to campus for an interview and teaching demonstration. Preference given to candidates who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices.
