University Registrar

Trinity, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an experienced professional for the position of university registrar. Housed within Academic Affairs, this position reports to the provost and works closely with the director of academic administration.

The university registrar is responsible for maintaining Trinity’s student records in all formats as well as key elements of Trinity’s student information system. The registrar manages student registration, academic course scheduling, classroom assignment, academic standing, graduation, and transcript functions according to the University’s academic policies and in cooperation with Enrollment Services and other university offices. The registrar is also responsible for maintaining and updating the Academic Catalog and course offerings, contributing to compliance reporting, and ensuring the University meets compliance and accreditation requirements as pertains to the registrar’s scope of responsibility.

This position requires a master’s degree or equivalent supervisory-level work experience, three to five years of experience in student records, and experience working with an integrated student information system to create reports needed for data-driven decision-making.

Other qualifications include:

  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws and mandates related to enrollment and student records with an understanding of institutional compliance responsibilities, including FERPA
  • A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse publics and across all levels of an institution
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
