Assistant Professor and Faculty Chair – Psychology and Human Relations

Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the assistant professor level in the School of Professional and Graduate Studies, beginning spring 2024.  This is a twelve-month, non-tenure-track appointment. The successful candidate will serve as faculty chair for the Psychology and Human Relations programs for non-traditional (adult) students.

Trinity is one of the nation’s historic women’s colleges, now also a Predominantly Black and Hispanic Serving Institution. The School of Professional and Graduate Studies is co-educational and offers classes in the evenings and on weekends, both in-person and online.

Trinity’s model of inclusive excellence pedagogy includes significant opportunities for mentoring as well as undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities. Candidates for this faculty position should be able to demonstrate a clear ability to create and deliver high-impact learning experiences that engage students with the Washington regional community.

In addition to teaching and curricular development responsibilities, expectations for this position include hiring, scheduling, and supervising adjunct faculty in the programs. In addition, faculty engage in service to Trinity through participation and leadership in program development initiatives, creation of new courses and innovative pedagogies, participation in special projects of importance to the program and the university, work on accreditation activities, and participation on faculty committees.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a terminal degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. Trinity particularly seeks candidates who have experience offering in-person courses as well as hybrid/online teaching.
