TITLE:                      Assistant Athletic Director / Sports Information Director

ORGANIZATION:    Student Affairs: Athletics

REPORTS TO:        Director of Athletics

 POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Athletics Coordinator at Trinity Washington University, a NCAA Division III institution is a 10-month, full-time, staff member with Student Affairs: Athletics.

The Assistant Athletic Director will primarily work in the Athletics Department to assist with department-wide initiatives. The Assistant Athletic Director will work a set work schedule in athletics with primary responsibilities for Sports Information.  The Assistant Athletics Director must attend all home games. The Assistant Athletic Director is expected to be a positive role model for students and be visible and accessible to student-athletes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in an appropriate area of specialization
  • Experience working in NCAA athletics; preferably with sports information/websites
  • Experience working with social media platforms
  • Experience working with Stat software preferred
  • Experience working with diverse, urban college women first-generation college students
  • Candidates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, computer competency, and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as Sports Information Director, provide and coordinate Stats coverage for all home games
  • Maintain website and social media accounts for Athletics
  • Assist with coordination of team travel and officials
  • Assist with athletic schedules and administer game contracts
  • Assist with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
  • Manage and distribute all equipment
  • Assist with student-athlete study hall and monitor grades
  • Assist with student-athlete recruiting and retention
  • Assist with academic tracking of student-athletes
  • Supervise student-workers and facilitate/oversee game-day setup
  • Attend all home games
  • Assist with coaching a team
  • Create a positive and welcoming environment for all student-athletes
  • Other duties as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSES, REGISTRATION OR CERTIFICATION:

  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Valid Driver’s License

SCHEDULE:

  • 40 hours per week minimum, 10-month position (August-May) with earned leave
