Adjunct Faculty – Health Science, Advanced Technical Center
Trinity Washington University is seeking a dynamic educator to teach courses within the General Nursing program for the Advanced Technical Center (ATC), a high school dual enrollment program in the College of Arts & Sciences for fall 2023 semester. Courses include: HPNU 101: Principles of Health Science, and BIOL 121: Human Anatomy and Physiology I. The ATC adjunct faculty will teach these courses at the ATC’s Penn Center, which is located at 1709 3rd St NE.
For Fall 2023, candidates would teach the 4-credit HPNU 101 course per the following schedule:
HPNU 101/ATC4: MTWTHF 2:50 – 4:10 PM
The Advanced Technical Center is a partnership with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education to provide DC high school students with the opportunity to complete dual enrollment pathways in Career and Technical Education fields such as health sciences and information technology.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution and be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills. Previous undergraduate classroom experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching dual enrollment students, and who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices.
Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be needed if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Finalists will be invited for an interview and teaching demonstration.
