Self-Service is Trinity’s online portal for registration. Self-service is also your go-to portal for viewing grades and unofficial transcripts and checking your student account balance.

To access Self-Service from any page of Trinity’s website, simply click on the link in the top left “For Students” and select “Self-Service.”

DC Consortium of Universities

Trinity is a member of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area.  The Consortium’s cross-registration program allows Trinity students to supplement their studies here at Trinity by taking advantage of academic offerings provided at member institutions.  Trinity students are offered the opportunity to enroll in courses at any of these participating cross-registration institutions of the Consortium: American University, The Catholic University of America, Corcoran College of Art & Design, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, The George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, Marymount University, University of the District of Columbia and University of Maryland, College Park.

Who is eligible for enrolling in a course through the Consortium?
Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing may request to register for a course through the Consortium, with the exception of first year Trinity students. Trinity students requesting enrollment in a Consortium course MUST be enrolled in a full-time course load at Trinity during the semester they seek Consortium registration in order for the request to be approved.

How do I request to take a course through the Consortium?
If you are interested in cross-registration please speak with your advisor when planning your registration for the semester.  You must demonstrate the relevance of the proposed course to your academic and/or post- college goals.  If your advisor supports your request to take a course through the Consortium, you will need to complete the Consortium Registration Request.  You will be responsible for obtaining the approval of your Academic Dean on the form and then submitting it to the Enrollment Services Office.  The Consortium Coordinator will review the request and submit the formal request to the other institution if the request is approved.

How do I know what courses are available?
Please consult the appropriate Schedule of Classes for the institution you’re interested in visiting.  Most Consortium members post their course offerings online.  Try searching for the Registrar’s Office section of the particular university’s website.  It is important to note that registration requests for courses similar to those being offered by Trinity in the same semester will not be approved.

How do I drop or withdraw from a Consortium course?
Requests for changes to Consortium registration (i.e., canceling the registration request, dropping the course, withdrawing from the course) must be made through the Enrollment Services Consortium Coordinator. Changes of this nature cannot be made via Self-Service as it requires the student’s signature, as indicated on the front of the Consortium Registration Request form.

How will I get a grade and credit for a course I take through the Consortium?
The Consortium Coordinator at the visited institution is responsible for reporting that information to Trinity’s Consortium Coordinator.  Consortium courses will appear on your Trinity transcript. The grade and credits will be calculated into your grade point average.

How am I billed for a Consortium course?
Tuition for courses taken through the cross-registration program will be billed to you by Trinity at the Trinity rate.  Any applicable special course fees charged by the visited institution are the responsibility of the student.

When will I find out if I am registered for the Consortium course?
Each Consortium institution allows its own students ample time to register for courses before confirming registration of incoming Consortium students.  In most cases, Consortium requests are not reviewed until a couple weeks before the semester begins.

Can I take a Consortium course during my last semester at Trinity?
Students expecting to graduate are discouraged from taking courses through the Consortium. Delays in reporting Consortium grades may prevent a student from graduating and/or participating in commencement activities.

Important notes:
Consortium registration is not guaranteed.  The submission of a Consortium Registration Request does not guarantee enrollment- courses may be closed and they are subject to approval from the visited institution.

Trinity students may only take courses through the Consortium cross-registration program during the fall or spring semesters.
