1995 Class Notes for 2014

Welcome to 40! Well, for most of us.

Wendy Madigosky reports that her kids have started to go to their church’s school, which is bringing back all sorts of good memories from her childhood. Her husband, Craig, started his own business in October 2012 and it’s going well, though he is out of town more. Her parents are also doing well in Silver Spring and continue to travel. This fall they will be in Korea with the international married couples group Teams of Our Lady. Wendy had several work trips this summer: Boston, NYC, Chicago, Vancouver BC, Fairlee, VT and Telluride, CO, and looks forward to bringing family on some of these trips next year!

The regular group, Teni Aharonian Lavoie, Stephanie Wurstner Maurer, Megan Casey Tencza and I all got together on the Jersey Shore in October to attend the wedding of Kirsten Kreiling Damiani ’96. We had a blast, as always. John Stewart and his family even made a cameo appearance at the restaurant we went to for drinks prior to the ceremony.

Stephanie is still busy keeping up with the crazy sport and school schedules of Will, who is in 10th grade, and Natalie, who is in seventh. She continues to volunteer with church and school and substitute teaches when needed. She also plays tennis for fun and started a jewelry making business called Keyed Up, which is starting to take off.

Teni continues to balance work and motherhood up in Cambridge, MA. Her son Luke (6) got into a very desirable school and has begun kindergarten. Lexi (4) joins him at pre-school. They’ve been spending lots of time at the beaches in both the Boston-area and in Naples, FL. Luke is a master at karate and Lexi is a sweet ballerina! They were both successful farmers this summer as well. Teni passed through Chicago on a business trip this past spring and we were able to have a nice, relaxing, child-free lunch together.

Speaking of visits to Chicago, Stephanie, Teni and Kirsten all came out to Chicago at the end of February to see Book of Mormon with me. It was another great weekend of food, laughter and “art.”

Megan was supposed to come to Chicago also, but had to cancel because her daughter Sydney made it into states gymnastics competition where she finished first for her age group (10) on the vault. Meg continues to love life on the Jersey Shore post-Sandy. Sydney is going into fifth grade and Will, second. Meg was in CA in early July for the birth of her sister Kate Casey’s ’99 third baby.

As could have been predicted, I have scaled down my responsibilities this year to one full-time job and one PTA. Yay for me! Shannon will turn 6 in September and Quinn, 4. In March, we spent two weeks travelling around Israel. It was amazing and the kids just loved it. We’ve spent the summer at camp and the beach/pool and we also had to move in order to renovate our place due to water damage in December. That made things a little hectic. We are still unpacking as we move back in. Shannon got into a great kindergarten and Quinn switched pre-schools to get me down to a single drop-off! Pete and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary with a little stay-cation in a hotel downtown sans children.

As always, I wish you all the best!
