I’m not doing well in a class, what can I do?

  • The first thing you should always do if you are struggling is to talk to your professor and attend their office hours! They are the experts on how to do well in their course!
  • Next reach out to your advisor who can help you make a plan for how to do better and will also help connect you with campus resources that might help you.

  • Academic Services provides a number of additional helpful resources including workshops and online resources. You can also make an appointment for a one-on-one consultation with the Director of Academic Services to address academic concerns.   • If you’re struggling with writing papers, Trinity’s Writing Center offers FREE peer tutoring support for students at any point in the Writing Center and you can also make an appointment with the Center Director for more targeted support.   • If it’s Math or Science that’s tripping you up, visit the Math Center in the library for help with homework or to meet with a tutor.
  • Sometimes struggling in school is just a reflection of struggling generally and Trinity is here to support you however we can! Trinity’s Health and Wellness Center offers individual counseling, support groups, mental health screenings, and prevention and education workshops.
