Marjorie Rebecca Davis

Marjorie R. Davis, “Rebecca,” of Salem, Va. died on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at a local hospital.

Daughter of Loren Thomas and Ruth Morehead Thomas, Rebecca was born and raised in Roanoke, Va. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Radford University. Following graduation, she served in the Peace Corp in Brazil where, in 1967, she met Chester Davis, a fellow Peace Corp volunteer; and they wed in 1968. After their return to the U.S. Rebecca went on to earn a master’s degree from George Washington University. She worked in higher education at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. and then as the Dean for Academic Services and Registrar at the Washington College of Law. Following her and Chet’s retirement she returned to Salem, Va. Rebecca had a passion for her family.
