1999 Class Notes for 2016

Dear Classmates,

Changes to the class notes have left the Class of 1999 out of the Journal for a while. We’re excited to be back, and hoping you’ll update your email addresses with the Alumnae Office (alumnae@trinitydc.edu) so we can reach out to more classmates next year!

Kate Casey writes from Southern California: “In September 2015 our daughter Sutton Alexandra was born joining her siblings Hayes (3), Jack (5), and Mia (7). I am a featured comic for US Weekly Fashion Police, contributing writer for the Today Show, Babble, ScaryMommy, Motherly, and FabLife on ABC in addition to my own site www.loveandknuckles.com where I cover reality TV recaps and parenting humor. This fall you can hear my podcast ‘Reality Life with Kate Casey’ (reality TV recaps and interviews). This year I started performing stand up comedy and have enjoyed performing at the Improv, Coach House, and on November 19, 2016 will have a show at the Howard Theater in DC. I’d love to see Trinity friends. We live in Newport Beach, CA and love to get visitors. In June I was thrilled to see old friends at the first annual Kaye Day to honor the memory of my dear friend Kathleen Duffy ‘98.”

Aimee Dolaway Olivo changed jobs in December 2014 and is now the Chief of Staff to a Prince George’s County, MD, council Member. She writes: “It was a big change from my career in fundraising, but I really love it. I’m also in my sixth year as a member of the Board of Trustees of Prince George’s Community College. I was honored to serve as Chair of the Board from July 2015-June 2016. Between my job and work with PGCC, I am learning new things every day and am really proud to advance our great county.”

Gabrielle Sarrano Moseley is back in Washington, D.C. at the State Department, following four years overseas in Baghdad, Iraq and Belfast, Northern Ireland. She has been in intensive economic training and working in the Office of Development Finance for the past year. In mid-September, she begins a two-year position in the Office of Aviation Negotiations, where she will work on U.S. bilateral aviation issues with Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Lisa Lieu remarked that it has been 17 years since graduation and hopes everyone is doing well “especially my girls Caroline C. and Molleda Lach. I have been married for 15 years and have two beautiful girls, Nora and Lauren Nguyen. Time has passed us by and love still remains strong as long as we keep God first in our priority. I’m looking forward to our 20th year class reunion and hope to see everyone there.”

I (Clair) have enjoyed a year of east coast adventures, including travels along the east coast and to Chicago and Detroit. I am looking forward to moving back to San Francisco by the end of 2016.

I (Gerry) had the pleasant surprise to catch up with Emily Salgueiro at the dedication ceremony of the Payden Academic Center in June. Despite my other summer highlights of seeing concerts by Paul Simon, Billy Joel, and Bonnie Raitt, none could top seeing Pope Francis up close during his visit to Washington, DC last fall.

We thank you for your submissions and hope to hear from more of our classmates next time.

Take care,

Clair A. McDevitt
