Class of 1972

50th Reunion Class Gift

April 2022

Dear Classmates,

Our Class of 1972 has reached a remarkable milestone. We will celebrate our 50th Trinity Reunion October 28-30, 2022. Please consider returning to Trinity to rejuvenate, reflect, and celebrate with classmates.

As we plan for our 50th Reunion, we have reconnected with many classmates. Frequently, we heard about the impact your Trinity education and experience had on the personal and professional aspects of your lives. For many of us, the friendships begun 50 years ago on Trinity’s campus foster an enthusiastic desire to return to Trinity for our 50th Reunion.

Trinity’s 50th Reunion classes have a long-standing tradition of creating a class gift to celebrate their partnership with Trinity and its future.

Our Class Gift will establish the Class of 1972 Student Lounge as part of the Renaissance of Alumnae Hall project. The new Student Lounge will be an integral part of this vibrant 21st century campus center. The Student Lounge will be a welcoming place for students to gather, collaborate and study together, build personal relationships and lifelong friendships like those so many of us treasure. The new Student Lounge includes the space commonly known as “The Smoker” during our time at Trinity! Imagine the possibilities!

Our 50th Reunion gives us the perfect opportunity to show our appreciation for the value of our shared Trinity experience. The Class of 1972 will celebrate community by creating a gathering place for today’s students through our gift. Participation is valued as much as the funds raised. We want to emphasize that each and every gift matters. We hope that everyone will join together to reach our dual goals of 50% class participation and $500,000 raised for Trinity. We are excited to share that we have already received early lead gifts totaling $279,000 to jump start our fundraising efforts.

All of our donations, whether designated to the Student Lounge, the Annual Fund, or to another purpose, will be credited to our 50th Reunion Class Gift. Trinity is a non-profit, therefore gifts may be tax deductible. Check with your accountant or tax advisor for possible tax implications. A donation/pledge form as well as a list of donation vehicles can be found on our 1972 Class Gift page.

We hope that you will reflect on your Trinity experience, its impact and value for you during the past 50 years, as you consider making a donation to the 50th Reunion Class Gift.  Members of the Class Gift Committee will be reaching out about the Class Gift and to respond to any questions you may have. You may wish to contact Ashley Bianchi, Director of Annual and Reunion Giving at bianchia@trinitydc.edu.

Thank you so much for your continued support and commitment to Trinity.

Sincerely,

Janet Bucca Higgins, Chair
