Tigers Conclude Season Against Christendom College

FRONT ROYAL, VA—  Fresh off the heels of a home matchup against Christendom, Trinity Washington University’s basketball team traveled to Front Royal, Va for a rematch to conclude the season. Trinity loss, 21-50.

Both teams shot below 30% from the field with Trinity shooting 18% and Christendom, 28%. The Crusaders outscored the Tigers in every quarter, but the third where the Tigers shot 20% and the Crusaders, 11%.

Mazia Donald led the Tigers with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block. Davia Cain chipped in 9 points and 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Heaven Thomas added 2 points and Kiera Thomas recorded 6 rebounds, a career high.

The Tigers rallied with the Crusaders in the first four minutes of the game with Caroline Howerton scoring first for Christendom and Mazia Donald closely behind with a layup. A score of 4-6 at 6:58 was the closest lead the Crusaders had on the Tigers before stretching the run to 15-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers went into the second half down 18 points, 10-28.

Cain and Donald teamed up in the second half to score 11 points to end the game, 21-50.
