Student Government at Trinity
Student Affairs supports the efforts of all Trinity students in the formation of Student Government Councils.
Student Government Councils exist in all areas and are designed to facilitate communication within the student body and with the Administration
College of Arts and Sciences Student Government Council
The College of Arts and Sciences Student Government Council (CAS-SGC) is designed to facilitate communication and collaboration among student organizations, the student body at large, and the Trinity Washington University administration.
The purpose of the CAS Student Government Council is to advocate for the well-being of the Trinity Washington University student body. The CAS-SGC is comprised of undergraduate student representatives from student organizations and from important stakeholder groups. Through its work with the Trinity Administration, the CAS-SGC will provide programming to students, serve as an advocate to the Administration on students behalf, operate as a non-traditional model of student governance, and shall serve to foster women’s leadership development.

Structure
The Student Government Council will consist of fourteen members – two officers from each campus governing organization. CAS SGC Meeting Minutes are available upon request by emailing StudentAffairs@Trinitydc.edu
Campus Activities Association (CAA)
The CAA is responsible for developing engaging and educational programming for the general student body at Trinity Washington University. The CAA President and Vice President will serve as Student Government Council representatives. CAA Minutes are available upon request by email.
Commuter Student Council (CSC)
The CSC is responsible for programming for and addressing the needs of Trinity’s commuter students. The CSC President and Vice President will serve as Student Government Council representatives.
Residence Hall Council
The Residence Hall Council (RHC) is the governing body of the residence hall students. RHC advocates for the needs and concerns of students in the development and implementation of residence hall policy, programs, and services.
First Year class
Class responsibilities include participation in the First year convocation and Medal Ceremony, organizing the class day; organizing class programs and events and organizing Senior Sister Week
Sophomore class
Class responsibilities include organizing the class day; organizing Fresh-women Sister Week; organizing class programs and events and organizing a Christmas on Campus Event
Junior class
Class responsibilities include organizing the class day; organizing class programs and events; and organizing Fresh-women Sister Week
Senior class
Class responsibilities include organizing class day; organizing class programs and events; organizing the Christmas on Campus event; organizing the 100 Nights celebrations; organizing the participation on Founder’s Day; organizing plans for the events of Senior Week; and to participate in Cap and Gown, Senior Luncheon and Commencement activities.
Each class has it’s own color, and the colors repeat every four years, for the 2023-2024 academic year it will be:
Red Class of 2028, First Year
Gold Class of 2027, Sophomore
Green Class of 2026, Junior
Blue Class of 2025, Senior
Professional School Advisory Councils
Business and Graduate Programs Advisory Council
The Business and Graduate Programs Advisory Council is designed to increase student involvement, enhance educational opportunities for all students through collaboration and professional development, and to provide opportunities for graduate student to succeed both academically and professionally.
The primary goals are as follows:
- Supporting graduate students by hosting academic seminars and workshops
- Promote community among graduate students, as well as graduate student integration into the university community
School of Education Advisory Council
The School of Education Advisory Council is designed to increase student involvement, enhance educational opportunities for all students through collaboration and professional development, and to provide opportunities for graduate student to succeed both academically and professionally.
The primary goals are as follows:
- Supporting graduate students by hosting academic seminars and workshops
- Promote community among graduate students, as well as graduate student integration into the university community
School of Nursing and Health Professions Council
The School of Nursing and Health Professions council is designed to increase student involvement, enhance educational opportunities for all students through collaboration and professional development, and to provide opportunities for students to succeed both academically and professionally.
The primary goals are as follows:
- Supporting students by hosting academic seminars and workshops
- Promote community among NHP students, as well as student integration into the university community
School of Professional Studies Advisory Council
The School of Professional Studies Advisory Council serves to advise the Dean of the School of Professional Studies on various topics affecting students and their educational and social experiences within the School of Professional Studies (SPS) and all events and activities outside the classroom.
The primary goals are as follows:
- Supporting students by hosting academic seminars and workshops
- Promote community among SPS students, as well as student integration into the university community
