Archbishop Coakley is right. To livestream an execution is barbaric and contributes to the shredding of the already-fragile moral fabric of this nation. Social justice demands upholding the dignity and worth of all human life.

To change this violent culture, we must work harder to foment the peace. That starts with insisting that all public leaders step back from their incendiary and disrespectful rhetoric and model the right way to disagree without violence.
