Katie Wanschura, Director of Instructional Technologies

Katie Wanschura is students’ and faculty members’ first point of contact for questions about Moodle, Trinity’s learning management system. She works directly with the Information Technology Team and Academic Affairs in coordinating and developing support for instructional technologies at Trinity.

Katie Wanschura has been with Trinity since the summer of 2010, and in her current role of Director of Instructional Technologies since 2012. Affectionately known as Katie the Moodle Lady, she has developed and maintained over 100 Frequently Asked Question ‘How Tos,’ in both video and text with screenshots formats, managed at least four major upgrades from a front-end user perspective, and  offered over 50 synchronous training sessions, both online and in-person, in the past Academic Year alone.

Prior to her work at Trinity, her previous technology experience included supporting a newly developed online course as a teaching assistant, managing the technology and website for a non-profit association, launching a complex membership-only, online magazine site, researching new media with a focus on podcasting, and fixing a printer with a paper clip (only once so far). Katie has two B.A.s from the University of Virginia (astronomy and drama), an M.A. from American University (non-profit arts administration), and a graduate certificate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Instructional Systems Development).

Katie is also one of co-founders and current President and Chair of the Board of a non-profit theatre company, whose mission is focused on presenting physical and movement-supported performances of classical and contemporary classical works to reach the broadest audience possible.
