Last night, the Tigers played their best game of the season as they hosted Central Penn. The Tigers came out roaring, winning the first quarter 18-17. Trinity had a small dip in energy to begin the second quarter but they fought back. After halftime the game stayed close and both teams continued to trade baskets. The Tigers could not regain the lead but they fought light tigers until the last second! There was a team effort to rebound the ball today and it showed as the Tigers finished the game with 40 rebounds.
Coach Richmond shared her thoughts after the game “ Tough loss, but to watch the team compete from tip off until the last horn, made me a very proud coach! It’s the best we’ve played all season. We’ve been dealing with so much adversity this season, but the team always shows up to compete and I’m loving that! Watching my players celebrate each other let’s me know that we are going in the right direction as a program. They are having fun and clicking with each other on the court. I was very excited to see the crowd and fans in our school colors cheering us on; our administration even added halftime festivities. Last night was nothing but positive vibes!”
The Tigers finished the game with 3 players in double figures; Taryn Yancey with 18, J’kaylah Beasley with 15 and Keisha Cooper with 11. The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, December 2nd as they travel to play Mid Atlantic Christian University. Next week the Tigers will host Hollins on December 5th at 6:00 PM and Regent University on December 10th at 2:00 PM.
