As a result of numerous phishing cyber-attacks in recent months – fake messages designed to get you to click on links and give away your personal information – Trinity’s Technology Services will begin enforcing 2-Step Verification for all Trinity Google services on March 8th, 2026. You can avoid interruptions with accessing your student Gmail by setting it up today. Here’s how:

  1. Sign into your Trinity Gmail account (http://gmail.trinitydc.edu/).
  2. You’ll see a notice titled Don’t get locked out. Click the Enroll button to start the 2-Step Verification setup.
  3. Click the Turn on 2-Step Verification button at the bottom of this page to use your smartphone or choose from one of the other available methods.
  4. A pop-up will appear to add your phone number. First, type in your phone number, and then choose between receiving a code via text messages or through a call.
  5. Click Next to continue.
  6. It will ask you to Confirm your phone number. Click Save.
  7. 2-Step Verification setup is now complete!
