Covid Protocols: Fall Semester
Trinity carefully monitors the Covid-19 situation and continues to implement protocols to ensure the health and safety of our campus community: Trinity requires documentation of full vaccination and booster shots and requires masks while indoors. Everyone should practice social distancing, be aware of symptoms and follow testing guidelines. See details below.
Vaccines and Boosters
All Trinity Students, Faculty, Staff and Vendor Partner personnel who plan to be on campus must provide proof of full vaccination, including booster shots. Your booster should come six months after your initial series of the vaccine. The Covid variants are a natural part of the progression of the virus. The best way to prevent new variants is to get vaccinated and get a booster shot, because if more people are fully vaccinated, it decreases the opportunity for the virus to spread and mutate. Recommendations for boosters have been changing, and updated information is available on the CDC website.
Students: Please upload your COVID vaccine cards through the Trinity Student Health Portal. Alternatively, you can provide a copy in person to the Health and Wellness Center (Main 461).
- The student portal can be accessed at TrinityDC.studenthealthportal.com. Use your Trinity username and password to login to the secure site.
- If you have a documented medical or religious reason to be exempted from the vaccine requirement, please complete the COVID Vaccine Exemption Request form. Students with approved exemptions must present weekly COVID test results to the Health Center.
- If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the Health and Wellness Center via phone at 202-884-9615 or email healthcenter@trinitydc.edu
Faculty and Staff: Please provide your verification directly to Tracey Prince Ross in Human Resources. You can e-mail a photo of your vaccination card or bring a copy of your card to the Human Resources Office.
Masks
Trinity requires everyone on campus to wear masks when they are indoors.
Covid-19 Testing, Exposure and Positive Tests
Covid-19 Testing is available in the Health Center, by walk-in on Mondays from 9am – 12pm or by appointment. At Home Covid Test kits are available for pickup at the Health Center (Main 461). Please use the Covid Test Submission form to submit test results to the Health Center.
Covid-19 Exposure: If you are fully vaccinated, you do not need to isolate if you have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 unless you have symptoms, in which case you should test and isolate. If you are fully vaccinated and have been exposed but have no symptoms but were in very close proximity to the infected person, you may still want to do a test after 3-5 days of the possible exposure.
Covid-19 Positive Test: If you test positive, regardless of vaccination status, they must report the results to the Health Center using the Covid Results Submission Form; isolate for 5 days after test result, respond to the follow-up received from the Health Center, and not leave isolation until cleared to return from the Health Center.
Covid-19 Symptom Check
Watch for Symptoms. People with Covid-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. The Coronavirus Self-Checker is an interactive clinical assessment tool that will assist individuals ages 13 and older, and parents and caregivers of children ages 2 to 12 on deciding when to seek testing or medical care if they suspect they or someone they know has contracted COVID-19 or has come into close contact with someone who has
Hand Washing
Attention to basic hygiene is always important, now more than ever, wash your hands!!
Be Careful and Be Safe
Even if you are vaccinated, you must continue to be very, very careful. Wear a mask, practice social distancing. The vaccine prevents the infection from being more serious; vaccinated persons in general are less likely to suffer the most severe symptoms and are less likely to die from Covid. Most Covid-19 deaths and serious hospitalizations continue to be among unvaccinated persons, and those persons also contribute to community spread.
