President McGuire Honored by International Women’s Forum for Her Enlightened Leadership

President Patricia McGuire was presented with the International Women’s Forum 2010 Women Who Make A Difference Award, which celebrates workplace diversity, support for the advancement of women, and enlightened leadership.  President McGuire was honored at the International Women’s Forum (IWF) World Leadership Conference in Montreal on October 15, 2010.

Each year, the IWF salutes the achievements of ten women from among its global membership of more than 4,500 women in 23 nations.  Honorees are highly respected women in their fields selected for their outstanding achievements and who are exemplary role models for women’s progress.  The Washington, D.C., Women’s Forum nominated President McGuire for the award.  President McGuire was recognized for her outstanding leadership in higher education, her exemplary contributions to the nonprofit community, and her passionate advocacy for women and girls.  She has served as president of Trinity since 1989 and has been a member of more than a dozen boards of directors of nonprofit organizations, foundations, healthcare organizations and community organizations.

Founded in 1982, the International Women’s Forum is advancing women’s leadership across careers, cultures and continents by connecting the world’s most preeminent women of significant and diverse achievement.  Through this global organization, IWF members come together across national and international boundaries to share knowledge and ideas, to enrich each other’s lives, to provide a network of support and to exert influence.  Through the IWF Leadership Foundation, IWF helps prepare future generations of women leaders.
