President McGuire is a recognized leader in the Washington region and was named to the “Power 100” list of the Washington Business Journal in October 2021: “As Trinity Washington University’s president since 1989, Pat McGuire has overseen major changes in enrollment and revenue across the decades, growing its endowment from less than $2 million to nearly $19 million last year, and she’s remained a cornerstone of the D.C.-area business community. But she’s used that platform, and her bold, fearless voice, to help elevate the needs of her predominantly Black and Latina female student body as a priority, recently using federal pandemic rescue funds to clear their tuition and cover transportation, books and child care needs, earning her national attention this summer. She’s forced the likes of Amazon.com Inc. and Greater Washington Partnership to take note of her and her nearly 2,000-student university and, last year, launched Trinity DARE, or Driving Actions for Racial Equality, to raise $10 million in the next three years to help equalize economic opportunities for her student body.”
