Trinity Launches Master of Public Health Degree
Trinity Washington University is launching a new master of public health degree through its School of Nursing and Health Professions that will begin with the fall 2019 semester. “I am very pleased to announce the new Master of Public Health degree, said President Pat McGuire. “As Trinity’s strength has grown in the health professions disciplines, we have received inquiries from more and more students about a public health degree that can prepare our students for careers in a wide variety of public, nonprofit and private organizations that focus on health issues. This degree is an excellent graduate school choice for students whose undergraduate majors have been in health services, human relations, nursing, psychology, community education, communication, business, biology, biochemistry and chemistry, and many other disciplines as well. The MPH could also be a good second master’s for licensed professionals in education, business or healthcare professions.”
Trinity’s 42-credit program (14 classes) is interdisciplinary and offers tracks in Global Health Leadership, Community Health, and Public Health Crisis Communications. Whether considering careers with large national or multi-national associations (Centers for Disease Control, Doctors Without Borders, United Nations agencies, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) or local healthcare employers (Medstar, Inova, Adventist, Kaiser) or public schools or community health organizations, this degree equips students with the knowledge, skills and competencies for professional leadership and success in the public health arena.
