Senior Morgan Kellman ’11 Awarded St. Catherine Medal at Cap and Gown Convocation
Trinity senior Morgan Kellman ’11 was awarded the prestigious St. Catherine Medal at Cap and Gown Convocation on September 25, 2010. Kellman, a political science major, is from Middletown, Maryland.
Kellman has distinguished herself as a scholar, athlete and student leader in many ways. She is currently president of the Student Government Association, is a member of the Trinity Honors Program and is a varsity athlete in three sports. She has been president of her class, lead singer in the Campus Ministry Choir, and active in College Democrats and the Green Leaders Club. Kellman, a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, has completed internships on Capitol Hill and traveled to Egypt last year for a study abroad program.
The distinguished award is named after St. Catherine of Alexandria, a third century scholar renowned for her love of learning. She is honored as the patron of philosophers. This award is given by Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society, to recognize an outstanding senior who reflects the ideals of St. Catherine. Trinity is a member of Kappa Gamma Pi, and selects the recipient based upon a review of the academic, co-curricular and leadership achievements of the candidates.
