Dedication, Celebration

ribbon-cuttingHundreds of alumnae and alumni, benefactors, students, faculty, staff, and civic and religious leaders gathered in front of the Payden Academic Center on June 4, 2016, for a joyous day of celebration!

President Patricia McGuire ’74 formally announced that the new building would be named the Payden Academic Center, in honor of Money Manager, Joan Payden, Trinity Class of ’53 — CEO of Payden & Rygel Investment Management — and her family.

Cardinal Wuerl offered a prayer and blessed the new building with holy water. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser brought greetings on behalf of the city: “You have my great appreciation because Trinity has made a powerful commitment to reach out to the residents of Washington, D.C.”

The official ribbon cutting ceremony on the Payden Academic Center plaza was a festive moment met with cheers.
