Thursday, Feb. 21: Trinity is OPEN!

Message from President McGuire, Wednesday, February 20, 2019:

Dear students and colleagues,

Trinity will open at 10 am on Thursday, February 21, and classes will start with the first classes scheduled at or after 10 am.  The late opening helps our crews to make sure that any overnight icing is addressed before everyone starts walking around the campus.

I am very grateful to our Aramark Facilities team members who worked in the snow, sleet and rain all day to try to keep up with clearing from this storm.  They’ve done a great job, but the combination of types of precipitation make their work difficult.  The good news is that temperatures are rising and tomorrow will actually be warm, but we are mindful that all walkways, roads and parking lots need salting just to be safe from ice.  Thanks as well to our Allied Universal Security team members who kept us safe through the storm, and to our Metz Dining Partner who provided meals for our residents throughout.

While we expect no weather problems tomorrow, and we do expect you to come to class or regular business, my usual counsel is that if you feel you cannot travel safely, you are excused.  Students should contact their faculty members, faculty should use the course cancellation system, and staff should contact supervisors if you cannot attend tomorrow.

I hope you enjoyed your snow day today and that you return tomorrow ready for spring season!

Cheers,

President Pat McGuire
