This dynamic program is designed as an introduction to the concepts and skills that are needed for a career in public health, as well as exploring the health needs of various communities in today’s rapidly-changing healthcare landscape. Broaden your opportunities and diversify your resume with our comprehensive coursework. Earning this credential will help set you apart from other job seekers.

This program requires just 18 college credits to earn your certificate that will open doors to great health service jobs in the community. The program can be completed in 3 terms which is about one year.  Even better, those credits can be applied toward our Associate of Arts in Health Services or Bachelor of Arts in Health Services degree program when you choose to continue your academic journey. 

This certificate program provides the skills and knowledge to become a trusted frontline public health worker, addressing the disparities affecting quality of health service delivery.

Community health workers provide the link between community members and health and social services, serving as an advocate in addressing disparities. This certificate program will teach you the skills to be responsive to the neighborhoods you serve, establish relationships in your community, and advocate for equitable access to health and social services that impact your community members’ quality of life. Students will facilitate community health capacity by building members’ health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a wide range of activities.
