Attorney, Managing Partner - Impact Legal Group

Kossi Jeremie Siwotso is an attorney and managing partner of the law firm he co-founded, Impact Legal Group, which focuses on immigration and family law, supporting clients seeking asylum, green card status and citizenship and special immigrant juvenile status. He is an avid advocate for immigrants rights and his approach to advocacy is influenced by his own background as an immigrant from a poor farming community in rural Togo, West Africa, who fought his way through the challenges of adjusting to the American life.

Kossi Siwosto earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Trinity in 2012 and earned his law degree from the American University Washington College of Law. He also studied civil law in the Republic of Togo. Prior to founding Impact Legal Group, he was an associate attorney at Leyruta, PLLC, and a senior associate at the Thoronka Law Offices. As part of his law school work, he participated in prestigious internship programs: He was a legal consultant with the World Bank Women Business and the Law project; served as a summer law volunteer at the Arlington Immigration Court in Virginia; and was a law clerk at Legal Aid Justice Center.

After working at two different law firms, Kossi Siwotso and Kaila Davis realized their common shared values and principles while representing their clients. They believe responsiveness to clients’ needs, compassion and transparency should be central to the practice of law. They decided to form a team and co-founded their own law firm, Impact Legal Group, to apply these values and principles. As they build and grow their law firm, they are creating an environment where their clients feel valued and respected. Siwotso believes that “Choosing to put families and communities first in this field means that you are completely devoted to impact; that you will protect it as if it were your own. That is the energy that sets us apart. We take pride in clearly explaining and navigating the often complicated laws around what your rights are and how to seek protection.”

Siwotso also handles family law cases and believes that “sometimes we are not fleeing strangers, but the people that are closest to us. Whether you are escaping from a complicated situation back home or you found yourself in a vulnerable situation here in the United States, we will help you protect yourself and your children. We offer sensitive and protective care for our clients in marriage, divorce, and custody cases.”
