Welcome to Trinity’s School of Nursing and Health Professions. Welcome back to some of you who earned your Trinity undergraduate degree and are returning to complete your graduate degree. We are delighted you chose to continue your academic and professional journey with us at Trinity.
We recognize we live in a world presenting challenges that you as a student in a healthcare discipline are consciously choosing to address. We value your success. We intend to walk this journey with you, giving you opportunities to grow in knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors aligned with the career path you are pursuing. We offer you this Virtual New Student Orientation experience for you to start your path to success!
Success begins with completing your NHP New Student Orientation which involves online modules as well as synchronous online meetings. Use your Trinity username and password to log into Moodle, Trinity’s Learning Management System (LMS). Look for the ‘NHP Student Orientation” once you are logged into Moodle.
In the School of Nursing and Health Professions, we recognize we are educating you to become our colleagues upon graduation. We know you will graduate with the necessary knowledge and skills for quality professional practice. And people will know you are a Trinity graduate by the professionalism you display when working with clients and colleagues.
So, this NHP Student Orientation takes you through academic modules as well as clinical modules required for clinical, fieldwork, and internship experiences. The Moodle modules will be available beginning December 10, 2020. All new NHP students are to complete all modules by the end of the day on January 17, 2021. Students complete the modules asynchronously.

New Student Online Calendar Dates
The respective School of Nursing and Health Professions programs will conduct synchronous sessions in addition to the NHP Orientation asynchronous activities.
- December 10th NHP New Student Virtual Orientation in Moodle Opens
- January 6th NHP Undergraduate Students (RN-BSN, Nursing and OTA candidates), 4:00pm
- January 6th New MPH and MSN Students, 6:00pm
- January 15th Undergraduate Nursing Meet the Facullty and ATI Tutorial 9:00am
- January 30th Counseling Graduate Tools for Success: 10:00am-12:30pm
How to Participate in Online Sessions
The NHP New Student Orientation includes asynchronous experiences outlined on the Moodle NHP Orientation course. Students begin the online asynchronous orientation activities. Students complete the modules at their own pace.
Faculty will conduct the synchronous sessions virtually on the dates above. The respective programs will send more details including the Zoom link required to participate. Please check your Trinity email regularly for updates from your program.

How to Participate in the Asynchronous Sessions
- Go to the Trinity website.
- Hover you mouse on ‘For Students’ then select Moodle.
- Log into Moodle using the username and password provided by Trinity Technology Services.
- Locate NHP Student Orientation
|Module 1||Moodle Learner Orientation – Updates the student on jhow to use the latest version of Trinity’s course management system|
|Module 2||Sister Sheehan Library Orientation – Informs students of what materials are available through Trinity’s library, how to find materials, and how to get library staff assistance.|
|Modules 3-5||Clinical and Fieldwork Related Material – These include information on the Health Information Portability and Affordability Act of 1986, Workplace Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Infection Control.|
|Module 6||Forms – Students read, sign, and upload forms needed by the NHP programs.
