Accelerated Master of Public Health Degree Program
(B.A. in Health Services to Master of Public Health)

During senior year, health services majors have the unique opportunity to apply to the B.A. in Health Services to the Master of Public Health Program.  The accelerated Master’s program allows select students to complete their undergraduate health services degree while also beginning graduate coursework towards a Master’s degree in public health. At the completion of the undergraduate degree in Health Services, students would have completed two courses towards a Master of Public Health degree.

Selection Criteria

  • Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average.
  • Students must complete a Trinity Admission Application for the MPH program.
  • Students must have recommendations from two (2) Trinity faculty who can attest to the student’s intellectual, interpersonal, and emotional maturity.

Program of Study

The description below provides an illustration of the student’s final undergraduate year in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) after admission into the B.A. in Health Services to Master of Public Health Program as well as after the student’s graduation from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)

  • Fall Term, Senior Year in CAS
    • Health Services and general education courses: 12-15 credits
    • SNHP 535 Health Program, Design, Implementation, and Evaluation
  • Spring Term, Senior Year in CAS
    • Health Services and general education courses: 12-15 credits
    • HADV 631 Health Advocacy and Behavior Change

 After Graduation

Students have the option to continue their Master of Public Health coursework either during the summer term that immediately follows their Trinity graduation or in the following fall semester. At this point, the student continues her studies as indicated in the Catalog pages for the student’s Master of Public Health Program.

In general, students need another 2 years of study to complete the Master of Public Health Program.
