Adjunct Faculty – Microbiology

Trinity Washington University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach BIOL 130: Microbiology for the Health Professions for Spring 2023.
Course description for BIOL 130: Microbiology for the Health Professions: An introduction to the study of microorganisms with emphasis on disease-causing bacteria. Topics include the nature of microorganisms, their relationships with humans, infectious diseases, and immunity. 4 credits

Course times:
Mon Wed 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM (lecture)
Wednesday 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (lab)

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in biology or a related discipline and be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills. Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be needed if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Finalists will be invited to campus for an interview and teaching demonstration. Preference is given to candidates who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices.
