Trinity Simulation Center Student Worker – Simulation TECHNICIAN

The student simulation technician collaborates with Director of Clinical Simulation and Laboratory Operations, the Dean of NHP, and the Simulation/Laboratory Technician in performing duties essential to the achievement of the college goals for simulation. The main purpose of this position is to function as a member of the simulation team supporting the educational activities of the simulation center.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Current enrollment at Trinity Washington University. Computer skills are essential for daily activities. Able to follow directions for project oversight and implementation. Interacts with simulation center team in a positive manner seeking guidance and assistance when indicated. Based on experience and technical aptitude, the individual will learn to operate simulation equipment for educational purposes. The desired student worker will possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, strong organizational skills, good time management, the ability to prioritize conflicting demands, good self-motivation with a willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to occasionally lift and use heavy or specialized medical equipment. Upper-level undergraduate.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the simulation center team, prepares for healthcare simulation activities by setting up patient simulator systems, healthcare equipment, supplies manikin moulage, audio/video systems, and electronic medical record system.
  • Demonstrates basic computer use skills.
  • Assists with the care, periodic maintenance, and repairs (as appropriate) of task trainers, manikins, and other simulation center equipment.
  • Participates in simulation center tours.
  • Participates in maintaining storage areas and tracking simulation center inventory.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of specialized equipment and supplies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with academic and technical colleagues.
  • Use and operation of simulation equipment for educational purposes.
