Leadership Scholarship Streamlines Process for Financing a Trinity Education

Makes Trinity the Most Affordable Private University in the Washington Region

Prospective students do not need to complete a separate application for the Trinity Leadership Scholarship. Students simply apply to Trinity and they will be considered for the Trinity Leadership Scholarship on an individual basis. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@trinitydc.edu or 202-884-9400.

The Trinity Leadership Scholarship program awards scholarship funds to new first year students who are admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences. “Trinity is fully committed to making higher education accessible and affordable,” said Trinity President Pat McGuire. “With this scholarship, we are making a clear and powerful commitment to women who seek a college degree, and we are streamlining and simplifying the financial aid process, which can be challenging for students to navigate.”

In addition to the Trinity Leadership Scholarship, students may also be awarded need-based Trinity scholarships and Pell grants, and scholarships for D.C. residents, resulting in a larger financial aid package from Trinity. “Many of our D.C. students pay very little out-of-pocket for tuition and that will continue with this new Trinity Leadership Scholarship program,” McGuire said.

To be eligible for the Trinity Leadership Scholarship, a student must:

  • Apply to the College of Arts and Sciences, Trinity’s undergraduate women’s college. There is no fee to apply to Trinity.
  • Be accepted to Trinity.
  • Complete the 2016-2017 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. The online FAFSA is at: www.fafsa.ed.gov .  Trinity’s FAFSA code is 001460.
  • Enroll full-time at Trinity and continue to enroll full-time each semester.

After the student completes the FAFSA form, students may be awarded additional need-based scholarships from Trinity, may be awarded Pell grants for low-income students, and may be eligible for other financial aid and federal loans. More than 80% of Trinity’s full-time students in the College of Arts and Sciences receive Pell grants; 100% of all students in the College receive some form of financial aid.

An Annual Scholarship: The Trinity Leadership scholarship will be renewed each year as long students maintain satisfactory academic progress as a full-time student at Trinity, with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and complete their FAFSA every year.
