Undergraduate Programs

The School of Education, in conjunction with Trinity’s undergraduate schools, offers the following degrees.

Certificate Programs

Trinity’s undergraduate certificates are stackable credentials that can advance your career and put you a step closer to earning a degree. All coursework can apply towards a Bachelor of Arts degree at Trinity. Courses are taught by faculty with extensive experience in education and are designed to provide you with the content knowledge and skills needed to take on leadership roles and enhance education opportunities for students at every level.

Early Childhood Education

Students in these programs obtain a foundation in early childhood education theories and practices that prepares them after graduation to then pursue graduate studies in the School of Education in any of the following areas that focus on or overlap with early childhood education:

  • Early Childhood Education — An M.A.T. degree for graduate students pursuing initial licensure
  • Educational Administration — An M.S.A. degree with a specialization in early childhood education for graduate students who want to become the director of a day care center or pre-school

Elementary Education

Students in these programs explore and develop their theories and practices of elementary education.  After graduation, these students may then wish to pursue graduate studies in the School of Education in any of the following areas:

Successful completion of a teacher education academic program at Trinity Washington University will meet the education requirements necessary to pursue initial teacher licensure in the District of Columbia and most states in which a student intends to practice. For more details please see the Licensure and Certification Notification.
