Congratulations Trinity Seniors and Graduate Students

You have been working hard on your associate, bachelor, or master’s degrees, and have looked forward to this moment in your educational journey for a very long time!  Sadly, due to the pandemic, we cannot have a “live” commencement ceremony — but we plan to do so in the future when we can more safely convene large events.  Meanwhile, as we learned last year, virtual ceremonies can be very meaningful, intimate, and festive. I hope you will join us!

This year’s Winter Graduation, which will take place virtually on January 12, 13, and 14, 2022, for those students who complete their degrees in August and December.  An email will be sent to all students who have applied for Winter Graduation and/or are completing (or have completed) your requirements for graduation on Monday, November 29, 2021.  In addition to the Virtual Graduation in January, you are invited to participate in person for May Commencement – May 19, 20 and 21st.  Please use the RSVP form to indicate your intentions for participation.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE VIRTUAL EVENTS:

  • Every student who has completed degree requirements is welcome to participate! After January 1st we will send you the Zoom link that is designated for your specific graduation ceremony.
  • Families are welcome to attend the ceremony online with special directions that we will send along with your designated Zoom link.
  • President McGuire, Provost Ocampo, faculty, deans, and advisors will participate in the virtual graduations.  The president, provost, faculty, and deans will wear regalia. There will be some words of encouragement, formal reading of each student’s name, AND the best part….
  • YOU will have an opportunity to say a few words as part of the celebration. We will take screenshots of the graduating groups all assembled for the celebration as well as record each session. These recordings will be converted into a Winter Graduation Video.
  • At the end of the celebration, President McGuire will confer your degree formally and Enrollment Services will mail your diploma.

Regalia
Regalia is available for purchase at the Trinity Washington University bookstore located in the Main Hall basement, beginning Tuesday, January 4, 2022, through January 13, 2022, during regular bookstore hours. Regalia is optional but encouraged for the virtual ceremonies.  The cost for regalia, including the cap, gown, and black tassel will be $30.00 for undergraduates and $40.00 for graduate students.    The Academic gown, cap, and tassel for graduation are all black.  You can separately purchase a tassel with your class color and year designate, but the tassel you receive as part of the official regalia is all black.
