Trinity celebrated its 111th Commencement on Saturday, May 17, 2014. D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson was the Commencement speaker and received an honorary doctor of letters. More than 350 diplomas were awarded in front of nearly 4,000 family members and friends.

Winter Graduation 2014
Despite record low temperatures in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, January 7, loved ones eagerly crowded into a packed Trinity Center where more than 200 degrees were conferred for Winter Graduation.
After an introduction by Sr. Camilla Burns, S.N.D., ’60, the keynote speech was given by Sr. Simone Campbell, executive director of NETWORK, a national Catholic social justice lobby. Sr. Simone is well-known for organizing the national ‘Nuns on the Bus’ tour advocating for policy making that puts a greater focus on justice and peacebuilding, and policies that protect the rights of the poor and disenfranchised. The tour received wide-spread media attention, including landing Sr. Simone Campbell a guest spot on The Colbert Report.
Enthusiastic friends and family cheered as students from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Nursing and Health Professions, the School of Professional Studies and the School of Education closed this chapter of their academic life, preparing to embark on the next.
