PELOSINancy D’Alesandro Pelosi ’62 has represented San Francisco’s 12th District in Congress for 28 years, is currently the Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives and is the first woman to have served as Speaker of the House.  In 2013, she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

Louise Fiocchi Gunderson ’68, was named in Forbes magazine’s Top 200 Women Financial Advisors for 2017. She’s not just a top 200 advisor, she’s in the top ten coming in at number nine on the list. Jane Dammen McAuliffe ’68 is the Director, Library of Congress John W. Kluge Center and Scholarly Programs Office. McAuliffe, a world-renowned scholar of the Qur’an, Islam and Muslim-Christian relations, is the immediate past president of Bryn Mawr College and the former Dean of Arts and Sciences at Georgetown University. She has been in residence during the 2013-2014 academic year as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Library’s Kluge Center.\

Anastasia D. Kelly ’71 is co-managing partner (Americas) at DLA Piper in Washington, D.C., received the 2014 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award from the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession.

Mary Evelyn Tucker ’71 is a Senior Lecturer and Research Scholar at Yale University.  Her film, Journey of the Universe, was awarded an Emmy® for Best Documentary from the Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Theresa A. Singleton ’74 is an Associate Professor of Archaeology at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. She was named one of Six Black Archaeologists and Anthropologists Your Should Know About by the Atlanta Blackstar.

Patricia Smith ’74 is an attorney and was appointed by President Obama to the position of Solicitor of the U.S. Department of Labor.

Sr. Kathryn Webster, SNDsmSister Kathryn Webster ’74 entered the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1976 and has spent many years in Brazil working with a pastoral team visiting the communities, holding meetings, walking with the people in their struggle for land, security on the land, and preservation of the forests from the loggers, ranchers and mining companies.
