1985 Class Notes for 2014

Trinity Class of 1985,

I know many of us are on some form of social media, but I think we all can agree that the TRINITY magazine is something we look forward to receiving. Just a reminder the online version of class notes will be coming out four times a year beginning this summer.

This year I received a good mix of information from our class “mixologist” Elizabeth Lee Kent. If you are friends with Lee on Facebook you may be aware of all the goodies she has created this year, including some great names to go along with them. Lee continues to live in Needham, MA, with her husband Chris and their daughter Corinna. Corinna is now a sophomore in high school. Lee continues working in the medical field, currently with a medical orthopedics device company. She and several of the other MA Trinity alumnae have been able to get together over the past year, including Joanie O’Brien (a new grandma), Nancy Hannigan McCabe, Mary McHugh McKelvey, and Carol Caputo Atwill.

Carol Caputo Atwill is now an empty nester and has begun exploring life without children in the house. Carol has begun a new enterprise, “Top This Gourmet Dessert Toppings,” and topping her dessert toppings chart are hot fudge and espresso caramel. Launching her line of all-natural toppings has her at tasting fairs, festivals, and markets across MA. When not promoting her new adventure, Carol and husband Michael visit their children, Caroline, who is in DC, and the twins (Stephen and Marie), who are working in the Boston area.

As we make our way down the East Coast, we stop into NY where we find Cindy Ripoll Diamantes and her husband Nick. Cindy and Nick continue to keep up with their three children, who are growing up quickly. The oldest, Nicholas, will be graduating from St. John’s University while Alex is graduating from high school and then entering Rider College with a basketball scholarship, and the youngest, Isabella, will be entering her freshman year of high school this fall.

Moving down the coast we can find Cheryl Carboni Smith and husband Bruce living in NJ. This May, Cheryl saw her daughter Cassidy graduate from Notre Dame and move to CA. When not visiting Cassidy, Cheryl continues to work for a local school district.

As we continue down the coast we can find two of our classmates in PA. Betsy McGrath Finneran and husband Bill are residing in Wyomissing, PA. They are also members of the empty nesters. Billy, the oldest, has graduated from Penn State and currently lives in DC, and Meredith and Katherine continue to be students at Penn State. Betsy has taken on the role of Focus Group Moderator, while Bill continues in his cardiology practice.

Also found in PA is Ann Deely Glavin and her husband, Maurice. They still live in Newtown Square. This year found Ann and her husband purchasing two new businesses. Another endoscopy repair business in TN and a new venture – a shredding business. When not obtaining another business, Ann and Maurice and can be found with their three boys: Eamon, who will be graduating from Duke in May, Seamus, a sophomore at Hamilton, and Pearse, a sophomore at the Haverford School.

Continuing down the Mid-Atlantic region we can find Christine Corbin living in Annapolis. Maria Sayers Roginski, her husband Tom and their two boys live in Chevy Chase. Both boys attend Gonzaga College High School in DC. Laura McCann McCaffrey and family are also in the DC metro area. Laura continues to sell real estate in the area.

On the other side of DC, we find MaryAnne Dooley. MaryAnne recently made the move to Herndon, VA, and is finally all settled in. She and her Welsh springer spaniel named Jasper are awaiting visitors! MaryAnne continues to make regular contributions to her “buy a beach-house account.”

Our class does not just reside on the East Coast, as it may appear. Yvonne Schroeder De Orr is currently living in Southern CA. She is the general counsel for a battery manufacturer. Her daughter is a freshman studying music management and her son is a junior in high school. Recently, she remarried and together they are making a new life. She has requested Andrea Armstrong or Lisa Gwertzman to contact her on Linkedin, if they read this.

As for me, I am living on MD’s Eastern Shore with my daughter Rorie. I am currently the director of staff education and professional development for a long-term care company. If not at work, I can be found at area ice rinks watching my daughter either train or compete.

I hope this year brings each of you much happiness and joy, until next time …
