Class of 1972 50th Reunion!

Class of 1972 50th Reunion Newsletter – February 2022

Dear Trinity 1972 Classmates,

It’s been a long time—50 years to be exact—since we said farewell to our friends and classmates under the Red Roof of Trinity College. And now, five decades later, planning is underway for what is sure to be a phenomenal 50th Reunion Weekend on October 28-29, 2022!

Our Reunion Weekend coincides with the 125th anniversary of the founding of Trinity College and features a week full of celebratory and educational events. This will be an exciting time for the Class of ’72 and the entire Trinity community. Truly Trinity is the bond that links us all!

A group of our classmates has come together to form the Class of 1972 50th Reunion Committee. We have important information to share with you about the planning thus far. This newsletter will provide updates about:

  • 50th Reunion Weekend Event Planning
  • Classmate Contact Information
  • Reunion Class Gift
  • What’s Next?

Event Plans for our 50th Reunion Weekend

The 50th Reunion Committee is energized planning the events for a truly special weekend. This is a golden opportunity for the Class of ’72 to come back to Trinity, reconnect with college friends, and share memories from our college years. The timing is optimal for a lovely Fall weekend in our nation’s capital and on Trinity’s campus. We will have a memorable time celebrating this golden milestone!

Members of the 50th Reunion Committee are coordinating with the Trinity staff hosting the events held on campus, as well as planning off campus events. They are working on selecting hotel accommodations for out-of-town classmates. Convenience to campus and a common space to gather are essential, all at an affordable price.

We are researching other venues for our weekend festivities off campus. Stay tuned! Details to follow when finalized!

Class of 1972 Reunion Gift

We are excited to share that our 50th Reunion Class Gift will be dedicated to Renaissance Alumnae Hall, the signature building project for the Trinity 125th Anniversary Campaign! The Renaissance Alumnae Hall project will create a true campus center that will welcome all students, commuter and residential, as well as faculty, staff, conference guests, alumnae and visitors.

A new Student Lounge will be a focal point created in the lower level of Alumnae Hall including the space we all remember as “The Smoker.”

Our goal is to rally class support around this major project and raise funds to permanently name the Student Lounge. This will forever commemorate the unique bond of the Class of ’72 with Trinity.

Trinity has made a lasting contribution to our lives through our education and life-long friendships. The Renaissance of Alumnae Hall will carry on this tradition by creating a space for Trinity students to enrich their lives where they gather, meet one another, study together and share ideas.

Our Class of ’72 is the first Trinity class to come together in support of the Renaissance Alumnae Hall Capital Campaign. We are excited that our class will be recognized for this important role at the Trinity 125th Anniversary celebration.

President Patricia McGuire will have more information about the Renaissance Alumnae Hall project in her upcoming 125th Anniversary Newsletter.
