The Master of Science in Nursing Program (MSN) at Trinity Washington University offers BSN nurses two tracks to continue their education as advanced nurses: Nursing Education and Nursing Administration.

The Nursing Education track prepares nurses to work in roles either as academic educators at universities and colleges or as clinical, unit-based educators in health care facilities. The curriculum for the education track integrates the National League for Nursing’s nurse educator competencies in all nurse educator courses and supports student development and application of the competencies from theory to practice.

The Nursing Administration track prepares nurses to lead and manage clinical units to provide quality patient care. The nurse executive competencies of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) is integrated in the nurse administrator courses and supports student development and application of the competencies from theory to practice.

  • The curriculum utilizes The American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s (AACN), The Essentials of Masters Education for Professional Nursing Practice, and The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics as foundations that guide the curriculums.
